The Center for Disease Control has released new guidance for vaccinated people on how to conduct themselves in a safe manner during the coronavirus pandemic, NBC News reports.

Such guidance was originally expected to be released last week, but was ultimately delayed in order to more clearly articulate the center's advice.

According to the CDC, vaccinated people can gather in small groups with people from other households without masks or social distancing, regardless as to whether they are vaccinated or not.

As an example, the CDC said that "fully vaccinated grandparents can visit indoors with their unvaccinated healthy daughter and her healthy children without wearing masks or physical distancing, provided none of the unvaccinated family members are at risk of severe COVID-19."

"This guidance represents a first step toward returning to everyday activities," the CDC declared.

The CDC also says that vaccinated people can attend larger gatherings safely with other vaccinated people, no masks or social distancing required.

However, the CDC said that fully vaccinated people should not be fooled into believing that they can return to a normal life yet. The CDC still recommends that those who are vaccinated wear masks and social distance in public spaces around people they do not know.

Approximately ten percent of Americans have thus far been fully vaccinated against coronavirus, with another 20 percent having received only one shot. According to President Joe Biden, all Americans regardless of background or age will have the opportunity to be vaccinated by the end of May.

As more Americans receive their vaccinations, the number of daily coronavirus cases has nosedived across the country. Two months ago, the number of daily cases peaked at over 300,000, a number which has dropped to about 40,000.

The fall in cases has led some states such as Texas and Mississippi to being lifting coronavirus-related restrictions such as mask mandates and lower occupancy limits. However, such states have been subject to criticism by Democrats, with President Biden referring to supporters of ending restrictions as "Neanderthals."
