Five people were shot within the span of eight hours in Cincinnati on Monday night. Police Chief Teresa Theetge responded by saying that people need to "learn how to behave" in the city. This comes after the chief has gotten backlash over the handling of a mob attack earlier in the summer that left a woman unconscious.

In response to two of the people being shot in Fountain Square, "My message to everybody, learn how to behave in our city, but especially learn how to behave in our downtown and our Fountain Square."

"These things sometimes start as a minor altercation and then evolve into something bigger. So do not come downtown, especially on Fountain Square, if you don't know how to behave," Theetge told reporters on the scene.

The two injured victims were from a shooting that took place at the CityBird restaurant in Fountain Square. Two windows were shot out during an altercation that took place around 7:30 pm. One 17-year-old boy was grazed on the leg and an adult man was shot in the thigh. Two people of interest were taken into custody, and both victims from the incident are expected to survive, per WLWT.

Another shooting took place around 6:30 pm on Westknolls Lane near Orland Avenue, which left one person killed. Police have only confirmed the victim to be a male, and authorities are attempting to search for a blue Tesla in connection with the shooting.

A fourth victim was shot around 11 pm on Monday. A young man was shot in the leg by the Stanley Rowe Tower Apartments. He ran to a nearby fire station for help and is expected to recover.

A fifth man was also brought to Mercy Health on Queen City Avenue on Monday. He was also shot, and police are investigating the incident.

Theetge has been slammed for her reaction to the brutal assault of a woman and man, blaming “social media” and “journalists” after a clip of the attack went viral. She has also been sued by high-ranking officers for “discrimination against white males.”
