"I think Gen Z is going to be a lot more conservative."
The left-wing CNN host appeared in an interview with Reason’s Nick Gillespie, where the two were discussing the political views of Gen Z and Millennials, and said, “My impression of millennials and Gen Z is there's actually going to be quite a division between them."
He later added, “My impression of Millennials was that they are fairly, obviously there are exceptions, but they're fairly progressive, and I think Gen Z is going to be a lot more conservative."
“Just my experience knowing Gen Z kids, my kids and their friends and whatever. I sense much more skepticism of, and I think it is a reaction to Gen Xers and Millennials forcing on them progressive views in school,” he added.
He added that Trump did a lot better with younger voters than the GOP usually does, and added that the reaction from Gen Z to become more conservative has been “failures of progressive movements to achieve what they wanted to achieve.”
“Whether it's Bernie Sanders, whether it's Black Lives Matter, whether it's Me Too, uh I think it's Covid, I think it's um a lot of progressive politics being forced down their throats in school,” he added.
Along with appearing to be more conservative, some surveys have shown that Gen Z, especially among young adult men, is attending church more often than adults in other generations.
