On Saturday night, a group of communists staged a fiery but mostly peaceful protest outside a Jason Aldean concert in the Chicago suburb of Tinley Park.

While the country music superstar entertained thousands of fans with his patriotic hits, the far-left revolutionaries burned American flags in the parking lot and chanted about how the United States was "never great."

Footage of the event showed protestors, many of whom were decked out in Revolutionary Communist Party clothing, singing and holding up posters. In the middle of it all sat the smoldering remains of US flags, which attendees had pre-cut before tossing onto the flames.

While many of the group's chants were generic, such as "No Trump, No KKK, No fascist USA," some were directed at Aldean, equating the pro-law enforcement lyrics in his hit song "Try That in a Small Town" to fascist propaganda.

"Guess what Jason," one of the protestors said. "We will try that in a small town, we will try that in a big city, and we will try it right in front of your face!"

After a number of flags had been incinerated, the police stepped in, declaring the protest an "unlawful assembly that has alarmed and disturbed others." The officer in charge asked everyone to leave the area, warning that "chemical or less lethal munitions [could be] deployed" if they failed to do so.

The group eventually complied and took their protest to the streets. Police extinguished the fires and escorted the participants as they marched down the street chanting, "1, 2, 3, 4, slavery, genocide, and war, 5, 6, 7, 8, America was never great!"

Far-left radicals have been up in arms about Aldean's latest hit, accusing him of dog whistling to racists and even going as far as to suggest the song was "pro-lynching."

"'Try That In A Small Town,' for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief," Aldean explained of his song.
