"Temperatures are dropping across Canada and Canadians are needing to heat their homes," Singh said. "Home heating prices are doubling this winter and Liberals will add to the pain by increasing the carbon tax."
Singh continued, "the finance minister's advice to families though? Cancel their Disney+," going on to tell Freeland that she is "out of touch and Canadians are out of money."
Freeland responded by bringing up Poilievre's support of cryptocurrencies from before his election as the leader of the Conservatives.
"Why don't we talk about some really terrible advice that was offered to Canadians in the spring by the Conservative leader," she began. "He urged Canadians to invest in crypto as a way to opt-out of inflation. Now bitcoin has crashed by 21% over the past week and more than 65% since the Conservative leader first gave Canadians that reckless advice."
She concluded her abstracted advice by insisting that "the Conservatives should apologize today for this reckless policy."
Singh's response was immediate: "A delusional response from the minister of Netflix."
"Maybe instead of advising Canadians to cancel their $14.99/month Disney+ subscriptions, the minister can do the right thing and cancel their government greed instead," he said.
"The government told us that the whole point of the carbon tax was to lower emissions," Singh add. Despite what the Prime Minister said, emissions are up and Canadians are out of money."
Freeland, again, avoided the topic by simply reiterating Poilievre's previous advice about cryptocurrency and, again, calling on the Conservatives to apologize for the advice.
"What should be canceled is the reckless advice that the conservatives offered to Canadians," she responded. "If a Canadian had invested $10,000 in crypto when the Conservative leader told them that was a good idea, today, they would have less than $3,500."
"What should happen, Mr. Speaker, is that the conservatives should apologize," Freeland concluded, without ever responding to Mr.Singh's question about the Liberals' controversial carbon tax.
