An AP reporter asked New York City's Mayor Bill De Blasio on Friday what the city's plans for re-opening restaurants were, to which he said that it was totally up to Gov. Cuomo.

Jen Peltz from the AP asked De Blasio on the subject of indoor dining in NYC restaurants: "What do you think should happen?"

De Blasio responded:

".... I continue to say, look, we're in an uncertain situation because of the new variants, we don't have all the supply of vaccine we should. But I also know, and I really feel that folks who are trying to make a livelihood, trying to save their businesses, they're struggling, you know, communities are really trying to support their local restaurants."

"So, the whole idea here is to try and strike the right balance. I know the governor is trying to do that. So whatever decision he makes, we're going to work with it."

"And the most important part is, whenever we do move to indoor dining again, to do it safely, and our Department of Health will be leading the way in terms of doing the inspections and the follow-up, to make sure things are handled safely."
