BREAKING: Trump bans CNN, MSNOW, Politico from the White House over 'fake news'

"Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States."

"Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States."

President Donald Trump has said that "effective immediately" he has banned CNN, MSNOW (formerly MSNBC), and Politico from the White House because of "fake news" reporting.

"I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them 'alive.' Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!"

"Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

The move from Trump comes after the administration has previously had battles over media access for reporters at the Pentagon. The New York Times sued the Pentagon over requirements that reporters be accompanied by escorts inside certain portions of the Pentagon building.

Trump previously banned the AP from the White House press pool after the outlet refused to use the "Gulf of America" for the "Gulf of Mexico" after Trump renamed the body of water. The AP sued, and a judge sided with the news outlet. However, an appeals court has sided with the administration, and the AP has remained locked out of the press pool as the legal battle has continued.

The move from Trump to ban more news outlet from the White House will likely result in more legal challenges. It also comes with a backdrop of the Trump administration working to use new media more frequently at the White House and shifted the rules surrounding the White House Press Pool so that the White House press team decides who is in and not the White House Correspondents Association
