The Trudeau government's deficit has risen sharply to $184 billion, which is more than triple any former record, according to Blacklock's Reporter.

To put this into some context, this is equal to 112 percent of all personal taxes submitted to the government last year. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer called the deficit "very serious."

"It’s going to present a great deal of challenges for governments at all levels ... we were very concerned about this current government racking up multi-billion dollar deficits while times were relatively good."

The previous record-breaking deficit was $55.6 billion in 2010, standing in a stark contrast to todays mouth-opening $184 billion figure.

This figure is still likely to increase as the Trudeau government has signalled that they are prepared to create more stimulus packages to push Canada out of the recession.
