After President Donald Trump gave a speech earlier this week to a joint session of Congress where he announced the arrest of a terrorist, made a child with brain cancer an honorary member of the Secret Service, as well as announced the acceptance of a student to West Point, Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) claimed that there were "no bipartisan moments" during his address.

Lee said on Wednesday this week, “There wasn’t no bipartisan moments yesterday. We’re looking at a fascist takeover." She was then asked about Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, who is a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor that Trump made an honorary Secret Service agent, according to the Washington Times.

“What about the fascists?” Lee responded when pressed about the cancer survivor.

During Trump's speech, Democratic lawmakers refused to applaud DJ. Additionally, there were other moments in Trump's speech where he highlighted people many Americans on either side of the aisle would say deserve to be celebrated.

On Tuesday, Trump announced that the United States was able to detain Mohammad Sharifullah, the terrorist who is believed to be the mastermind behind the attack that took the lives of 13 American soldiers at Abbey Gate during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

"Three and a half years ago, ISIS terrorists killed 13 American service members and countless others in the Abbey Gate bombing during the disastrous and incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan," Trump said. "Not that they were withdrawing. It was the way they withdrew, perhaps the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country. Tonight, I am pleased to announce that we have just apprehended the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity, and he is right now on his way here to face the swift sword of American justice."

In addition to this, Democratic lawmakers resisted when Trump announced that a senior in high school had been admitted to the US Military Academy at West Point.

Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) said of Trump's speech that standing or clapping for anyone during the speech would be like “standing with Donald Trump, and we just could not stand to do that."

Democrats, however, were quick to clap in support of Ukraine when Trump addressed the conflict between the country and Russia in his Tuesday speech.
