"My brother ain't doing nothing to nobody. Hey, hey, he'll walk out by himself. Move the f*ck back boy!"
Before redistricting voting commenced Thursday, demonstrators were ejected from the Capitol by authorities after the fire alarm was pulled. Chaos ensued as the vote proceeded.
The troopers on the scene were apparently taking Pearson’s brother into custody.
"My brother ain't doing nothing to nobody. Hey, hey, he'll walk out by himself. Move the f*ck back boy!" Pearson could be heard on video. He then yelled, "What the f*ck is wrong with you?"
Pearson subsequently posted on social media and claimed that police arrested his brother because of his refusal, along with other demonstrators, to leave after House Speaker Cameron Sexton ordered the gallery cleared.
It was not immediately clear what Pearson’s brother was being charged with right after the incident took place. Pearson, when his brother was getting in a cop car, said that he was "proud" of him.
"This is what tyranny does," Pearson said. "This is what white supremacy does." Pearson has previously used allegations of "white supremacy" against President Donald Trump and labeled the president a terrorist after Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said that the state would change the congressional map.
"Donald Trump is a white supremacist domestic terrorist who is seeking to destroy our democracy by any means necessary, including by usurping democracy itself and the voices of the people. And Governor Bill Lee, [House Rep.] Cameron Sexton and Lieutenant Governor McNally, have all decided to join him in this effort to destroy our democracy, to take away our voice, and to attack black people and black representation, and that's wrong," Pearson said earlier this week.
