Democrats count on Biden wins in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania to secure 2024 election

Top Democrats are counting on the "blue wall" in the Midwest consisting of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania to save Biden in the upcoming 2024 election against President Donald Trump as both men seek a second term in office.

According to The Hill, Biden has some chance of pulling out a win in each of the states come November. Democrats are also banking on abortion to be a top concern with the demographics in the blue-collar states and see it as an advantage.  

“It was critical in 2020, it was critical in ’16,” Senate Democrat Policy and Communications Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow stated about the "blue wall" in the upper Midwest states.  

She added, “The CEO of U.S. Steel has called in a manufacturing renaissance. We’re bringing jobs back. Basically, the Biden administration is doing everything that others including Donald Trump have talked about but were never really serious about doing,” 

Stabenow said that Biden is aiming "right at the middle class" for votes, this is despite some public relations flubs from the Biden administration such as appearing at a glitzy fundraiser with celebrities the same day as when Trump was invited to attend the funeral of a fallen NYPD officer. Additionally, when Biden finally got around to visit East Palestine Ohio over a year after the toxic train derailment, residents protested his appearance telling him that he was "too little, too late." 

In contrast to the confidence that the top Democrats have been feeling about the upper Midwest swing states, a recent Wall Street Journal poll found that Trump was leading in both Pennsylvania and Michigan, along with 4 other battleground states. Biden led by 3 points in Wisconsin, according to the poll.
