Actor Dennis Quaid, who stars in the upcoming biopic Reagan, revealed in a Tuesday interview with Pierce Morgan that he will be voting for Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

Morgan asked Quaid, "what do you think of Trump," to which the actor replied, "I think I’m gonna vote for him."

Quaid elaborated, saying he was "ready not to vote for Trump," but he saw a "weaponization of our justice system." He added that Trump is likely "the most investigated person probably in the history of the world, and they haven’t been able to really get him."

"People might call him an a**hole, but he’s my a**hole," Quaid said of Trump.

Following Trump’s historic rally in the South Bronx on Thursday, Quaid said in a separate interview with Jesse Watters, "I really admire Trump for going into the neighborhoods. You know, people relate to that. They really do. If anything, all these events that have been conspiring against him have actually made him more human to people."

"Donald Trump has been talking about cleaning house, which, you know, kind of making a clean sweep to start over," he said. "That doesn’t mean being a dictator. That just means that we started doing what the American people have asked us to do."

During the post-rally interview, Quaid drew parallels between Trump’s campaign and that of Ronald Reagan in the 1980s. Quaid is playing the famed presidential figure in an upcoming biopic about Reagan’s life.
