Likely GOP nominee for the 2024 election Donald Trump took to the stage at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday night after a day of campaigning and spoke about who raised money for the campaign. He made special note of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who pledged to campaign for Trump and told him "Welcome back."

According to the National Pulse, Trump spoke for about an hour at the fundraiser event after going around campaigning in Atlanta, Georgia, and Orlando, Florida.

“Today, I heard very nice things. I heard he’s going to campaign very hard for me. And he’s going to raise a lot of money for me. Ron, we like you. Welcome back.”

Trump's remarks during the evening at the golf club in West Palm Beach also touched on recent wins such as the IPO of Truth Social and the work that many did to make it happen.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that DeSantis would be fundraising for the former president ahead of the 2024 election in November. Sources familiar with the matter told NBC that during a private retreat last weekend, DeSantis told donors and supporters of his intentions to campaign and raise funds for Trump.

“He did say it in front of a group of people at the Hard Rock,” an advisor to DeSantis told NBC. The advisor said that, when DeSantis withdrew from the presidential race, he made a commitment to support Republicans at all levels and intends to do just that.

After DeSantis dropped out of the race, he immediately endorsed the former president, saying, "[Trump] has my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form or warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents.
