Detransitioner describes being 'brainwashed' by activists into believing he was a woman

"It's transphobic to say it but after I've been through the system, I 100 percent feel like I was part of some cruel medical and social experiment–except nobody checked in on me," he said.

A male who formerly identified as transgender woman has come forward with his detransition story about being "brainwashed" into seeking sex reassignment surgery, after believing himself to be a woman trapped in male's body.

"It's transphobic to say it but after I've been through the system, I 100 percent feel like I was part of some cruel medical and social experiment–except nobody checked in on me," he said.

The 32-year-old male, who goes by the name Shape Shifter, shared a video to his YouTube account in May about his detransition story. "I am embracing the fact that I am a man who got brainwashed by gender ideology that I was in a "wrong" body and I needed to alter my body to be my "authentic" self. My body was perfect as is. I should have never messed with my original blueprint," said Shape Shifter in a comment on his video.

The Daily Mail reports that Shape Shifter grew up in the Balkans, a Muslim country where even being gay looked down on. He believed that he would finally find happiness if he adopted a transgender identity.

Shape Shifter was given a referral letter by Fenway Health in Massachusetts, which he says has been taken over by biased trans activists. His vaginoplasty surgery was performed by Dr. Sherman Leis of the The Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery.

Vaginoplasty is a complex procedure with a high rate of complications, with 20 percent to 70 percentof trans-identified male patients reporting to have experienced complications from surgery. The purpose of a vaginoplasty is to create a neovagina from existing genital tissue, sometimes also using a section from the colon.

"One of the biggest mistakes is because I went to Fenway Health. A lot of their staff is LGBT and one of my therapists was trans as far as I know. Initially I thought it was good because she would understand me but now looking back she was biased. You know it's kind of an activist hospital in a way," said Shape Shifter.

Not long after the operation was complete in 2015, while he was in his mid-20s, Shape Shifter realized he had made a huge mistake. He now knows that he is a gay man who enjoys presenting in a feminine way.

Shape Shifter refers to his neovagina as a wound, which his body tries to close up. Additionally, Shape Shifter now suffers from depression and a low sex-drive.

Shape Shifter says men should be encouraged to feel comfortable in their femininity, without feeling pressured into medically transitioning. He still wears makeup and has long hair.

"I will never be able to get my penis back, which is extremely traumatic for me. I want it back and I can't. Sex is traumatic for me now because I've had botched surgeries," Shape Shifter told YouTuber Blaire White in an interview.

Shape Shifter described his concern for having to take hormones for the rest of his life, when there is no long-term research to address their safety. "I'll have to have some kind of hormone in my body so it's going to be estrogen only because if I don't take any hormones, I already have osteoporosis and it will continue to get worse. I went almost seven years without any hormones. The hormones I am taking are similar to what women get during menopause."

"I feel like my life would have been better and more productive if over the last 10 years I spent expanding definition of what it is to be a man instead of trying to just blend in like society wants and trying to be a heteronormative woman," he said.
