US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice is set to investigate former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker as well as others about their formal, organized plans to dox, prosecute, or arrest ICE or other federal agents. Lightfoot is launching the ICE Accountability Project while Congressional Democrats are working on a Master ICE Tracker.

Bondi made the comments when she appeared on Fox News Jesse Watters Primetime. Bondi accused the Democrat politicians of obstructing federal agents who are carrying out immigration enforcement in various locations. Bondi was responding to a video with Lightfoot calling to "unmask" ICE agents with her ICE Accountability Project. Lightfoot plans document “purported criminal actions of ICE and CBP agents.” She wants to show what ICE agents are wearing, driving, and to make sure they can be identified by the public.

A simiar project has been proposed by the House Oversight Democrats, where Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) said that lawmakers would be launching a Master ICE tracker, to track "every single instance that we can verify that the community will be able to send us information on, and it’ll be all available in one central place."

“[Lightfoot] will be getting a letter from us tomorrow to preserve anything she has done as well, to make sure that she’s not violating the law. It appears she is. You cannot disclose the identity of a federal agent—where they live, anything that could harm them,” Bondi said, warning of legal action.

She then talked about other officials that are set to be investigated over similar actions. “Pritzker, same ball game. Nancy Pelosi got a letter today from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, so did Brooke Jenkins—that D.A. in San Francisco,” Bondi continued. “We told them: ‘Preserve your emails, preserve everything you have on this topic.’ Because if you are telling people to arrest our ICE officers, our federal agents, you cannot do that. You are impeding an investigation, and we will charge them.”

Blanche's letter to multiple California politicians stated, “We urge you and other California officials to publicly abandon this apparent criminal conspiracy, to stop threatening law enforcement, and to prioritize the safety of your citizens."

He added, "In the meantime, federal agents and officers will continue to enforce federal law and will not be deterred by the threat of arrest by California authorities who have abdicated their duty to protect their constituents.”

Pritzker has also floated the idea of prosecuting ICE agents in Chicago. "These people should recognize that maybe they’re not gonna get prosecuted today, although we’re looking at doing that, but they may get prosecuted after the Trump administration because the statute of limitations would not have run out," the Illinois governor said earlier this month.

Jenkins previously told reporters that she "won't hesitate" to charge federal agents who are sent to the San Francisco area. Pelosi said earlier this week in a statement with California congressman Kevin Mullin, “Our state and local authorities may arrest federal agents if they break California law—and if they are convicted, the President cannot pardon them."

Bondi added in her comments, "If they think I won’t, they have not met me, because we will charge them if they are violating the law. We will protect our federal agents. They’re out there working nonstop."

The move from Bondi comes as the Trump administration has been cracking down on illegal immigration and crime in a number of Democrat-led cities around the nation, including Chicago, Portland, DC, Los Angeles, and others.
