On his podcast on Monday, former CNN host Don Lemon claimed that "something is broken" within white men, and that "the faces behind the trigger" in recent shootings "looks the same nearly every single time.”

Lemon said, "White men, are you okay? You’re sending troops, National Guard to cities. You keep talking about oh my gosh, Chicago and black-on-black crime. I wanna know: White men, are you okay? Because that is the real issue here."

"This country keeps waking up to bodies in the pews, blood on the floor, gunfire in public places, and the faces behind the trigger looks the same nearly every single time," he continued. "This is just the truth, I don’t care if you get mad about it."

He noted shootings that occurred over the weekend in Michigan and North Carolina. In Michigan, four people were killed when Thomas Jacob Sanford opened fire on worshipers at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday and set the church on fire. In North Carolina, Nigel Max Edge was arrested after allegedly opening fire at a waterfront bar, killing three people and injuring five.

"White ladies, come get your men, like, I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe you can help us out here."

He later added, "White men, something is broken, something is cracked deep inside when so many of you believe the answer to fear, to loss, to change is violence. Are you listening to me? I hope I’m saying it louder for people in the back."

Lemon’s comments were criticized on social media, with Libs of TikTok writing, "Don Lemon is racist."

Commentator Benny Johnson wrote, "Don Lemon, who is married to a white man, has a complete racist meltdown over white men."

"So much of Don Lemon’s life is centered around the idea that white men suck," wrote Jesse Kelly.
