"Easy to tell who is an NPC today."
In a post on X, Musk said, "Easy to tell who is an NPC today," with a picture depicting a group of clones all saying "bloodbath."
During a rally in Ohio on Saturday, former president Trump said there would be a "bloodbath" for the auto industry if he was not elected. In context, he was referring to how many jobs would be lost to China if President Joe Biden were to be re-elected, however, the liberal media cut out the part about the auto industry and spread it as though he was making a violent threat.
Several mainstream media commentators and outlets such as Politico, Mediaite, and The Independent ran misleading headlines that took his comments out of context. Politico's headline read, "Trump says the country faces 'bloodbath' if Biden wins in November" with a subheadline claiming he was painting a "dark picture of the US."
Another example is a now-deleted post from NBC's Joe Scarborough that showed an image from January 6, 2021, and said, "Donald Trump's America. And he is proud of it. Promised another 'bloodbath' if he loses again." He deleted the tweet after Musk responded with "Jan 6 was not a 'bloodbath' by any definition and Trump was referring to job losses in the auto industry when he used that word. Your post is extremely misleading."
In the speech, former President Trump said, "China now is building a couple of massive plants where they're gonna build the cars in Mexico, and they think that they're gonna sell those cars into the United States."
“If you’re listening, President Xi,” Trump told the crowd. “Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected.”
"Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — That’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.” His comments were entirely localized to the auto industry.
Keith Olbermann went as far as to call the statement a "terrorist threat" and demanded the FBI arrest him.
