X owner Elon Musk on Wednesday teased the possible return of the former social media platform Vine.

Musk posted a poll to his account, asking, "bring back Vine?"

With over 431,000 votes an hour into the poll, 70.5 percent of respondents said they wanted the app to return.

The popular social media platform allowed users to post 6-second looping clips. It was bought by Twitter for around $30 million in 2012,according to The Verge, and it was announced in late 2016 that the app as it was known would be shutting down, instead turning into a camera app where users could post videos directly to Twitter.

X user ALX posted on Tuesday asking if Vines were coming soon, to which X’s official account responded, "SHHH possibly."

"Vine is inevitable, he added, to which Musk responded, "very well."

Shortly after his purchase of X, then known as Twitter, was finalized in 2022, Musk asked users the same question of whether to bring back the app. With nearly 5 million responses, 69.6 percent said they wanted the app to make a comeback.

The potential revival of Vine comes as TikTok, another popular short-form content app, faces a potential ban in the US if Chinese parent company ByteDance does not divest from the platform.
