"Sign our petition to support the Constitution! Also earn $47 for every person you refer to sign the petition if they’re in a swing state."
Musk wrote in his post, "Sign our petition to support the Constitution! Also earn $47 for every person you refer to sign the petition if they’re in a swing state. Goal is to get 1M voters in swing states to show support for free speech & right to bear arms."
Musk responded to Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec, saying that doing so is "easy money" for those looking to support freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.
On Saturday evening, Musk said in Butler, "You must have free speech in order to have democracy. That's why it's the first amendment, and the Second Amendment is there to ensure that we have the First Amendment." The rally took place at the site of the assassination attempt against Trump on July 13.
"President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America," he said.
The tech and SpaceX entrepreneur also emphasized the importance of registering to vote in the upcoming election, as multiple swing states have voter registration deadlines in coming days. The final day for registering to vote in Georgia, for example, is Monday Oct. 7 and the registration deadline for voting in North Carolina is on Oct. 11.
