Elon Musk plans to allocate approximately $45 million monthly to help President Donald Trump.
Update: Musk has since denied the $45 million figure.
“What’s been reported in the media is simply not true,” he said in an interview with Jordan Peterson, while confirming that he will be contributing to America PAC.
“I am making some donations to America PAC, but at a much lower level and the key values of the PAC are supporting a meritocracy & individual freedom,” he posted on X “Republicans are mostly, but not entirely, on the side of merit & freedom.”
Original story follows: Elon Musk plans to allocate approximately $45 million monthly to a new super PAC supporting former President Donald Trump's presidential campaign, according to a Wall Street Journal report, citing sources. Established in June, America PAC aims to boost voter registration and encourage early voting and mail-in ballot requests in swing states, according to reporting. The coalition observed that Democrats traditionally run strong "get out the vote" campaigns and have committed significant funds to grassroots efforts in swing states. America PAC seeks to counter these efforts. Additional supporters of America PAC include Palantir Technologies; its co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former U.S. Ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft, and her husband Joe Craft, CEO of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners. It was revealed last week that Musk had donated to the PAC, leading the Biden campaign to lash out in an aggressive statement. "Arrogant billionaires only out for themselves are not what America wants or what America needs," a Biden campaign spox, told Bloomberg in a statement. "Elon knows Trump is a sucker who will sell America out, cutting his taxes while raising taxes on the middle class by $2,500." Musk, one of the world's wealthiest individuals, has been an outspoken critic of President Joe Biden and has voiced opposition to numerous left-wing policies enacted by his administration. Additionally, he often engages with conservative accounts on X, frequently interacting with and commenting on their posts.
After the assassination attempt on Trum, Musk stepped up and endorsed the 45th president.
