Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited National Guard troops at Washington, DC’s Union Station on Wednesday and were met with protestors who booed and cursed at them. This comes as the National Guard has been deployed to the nation’s capital to assist in cracking down on crime, and Trump has federalized the city’s police department.

People in the crowd were heard shouting at Vance and Hegseth as they walked through the station, "f*ck you, Pete! F*cking Nazi," and "get the f*ck out of my city." One woman was heard screaming about "healthcare and housing and climate justice," adding, "free DC."

Vance and Hegseth had joined members of the National Guard at the station for lunch, where they thanked the troops for their efforts in cracking down on crime in the nation’s capital.

Vance said, "First of all, we're saying … thank you to the National Guard folks, to the cops, for actually keeping this place safe. If you look at what's happened in Washington, DC, in just the past nine days, we've seen a 35 percent reduction in violent crime [and] we've seen over a 50 percent reduction in robberies."

Hegseth said, "[These guardsmen are] here because they're patriots who serve the country and believe we deserve a beautiful, safe capital. And when I talk to all these people, they're proud of this mission [and] they're proud to be a part of making sure the rule of law is established. … It's an honor to be here with you."

Hegseth and Vance were booed while leaving the lunch, with Vance pointing at the person and saying, "This is the guy who thinks people don’t deserve law and order in their own community," with Hegseth, who was standing next to him, pointing at the person and laughing.

While speaking to the press, Vance criticized those protesting, saying, "It's kind of bizarre that we have a bunch of old, primarily white people out there protesting the policies that keep people safe when they've never felt danger in their entire lives."

Funny how the people in DC don't want the criminals locked up.
