"Humbled and grateful to all who made ‘Under Siege’ the New York Times Number 1 Bestseller."
In a post on X, Trump wrote, “Humbled and grateful to all who made ‘Under Siege’ the New York Times Number 1 Bestseller — the most prestigious award in the publishing industry. This isn’t just my story—it’s OUR story.” He thanked his father, his family, and his team, saying they “stood strong” through what he described as a “vicious, orchestrated fight.”
Released in September, Under Siege offers what Trump calls an unfiltered view of life inside the Trump orbit, covering the family’s legal battles, media scrutiny, and personal challenges. The book’s description promises readers “an unfiltered look at the highs and lows of life in the Trump world.”
Eric Trump, who once appeared regularly on his father's NBC show The Apprentice and now co-runs the Trump Organization with his brother Donald Jr., also dedicates space in the book to his childhood. He writes that his parents took a tough love approach — recalling that his mother was the stricter parent and that his father repeated a morning mantra before school: “No drinking, no smoking, no drugs, and remember never trust anyone.”
Following the shooting of Charlie Kirk last month, Trump said he would donate part of his book proceeds to Turning Point USA, the group founded by Kirk.
The book also touches on the family’s move from New York to Florida in 2021, citing pandemic restrictions at his son’s school as “the last straw of insanity.” Eric and his wife, Lara, a Fox News host, now live in Jupiter with their two children, Carolina and Luke.
At a recent promotional event, Trump was asked whether he or his siblings planned to enter politics. “It’s an awful job. It’s an awful career,” he replied. “Never say never, but hopefully I can avoid the nightmare of politics for a little while longer.”
