Ex-NBA player Royce White wants Ilhan Omar deported: 'Don't Mogadishu my America'

Former NBA player Royce White has said that he wants Rep. Ilhan Omar deported back to Somalia. The comments come after the ex-NBA player made waves last month announcing that he would be eligible for the WNBA after declaring himself to be a transgender woman. 

He made the comments in an interview with VladTV, where he was asked about his run in politics. White has said that he is running for president after he lost his bid for the US Senate in Minnesota in the Republican primary. 

When asked what he thought about Omar, White said, "I think she should be deported."

When asked why, he responded, "This is not Mogadishu. Yeah. That's my campaign pitch for my presidential run. ... Don't Mogadishu my America." He went on to talk about the US' intervention in Somalia and added that Omar's father was "a deep state asset" and was "involved in what they call a civil war, but it was more so a genocide led by his faction of the resistance or the rebellion or America's sponsored state sponsored coup in the country."

He went on to say that America has turned into an "epicenter for Somalis" and addressed the issues of mass migration and refugees. 

"These people come to our country and they have the audacity to talk ... down on this country as though it's the worst place possible to live. Go back to Somalia, go live in Somalia then, if America is so bad, you know, and it's not just Ilhan. It's Ilhan. It's Mamdani. It's Sayed."

He then talked about the controversy where Omar has been accused of marrying her brother so that he could gain citizenship. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin recently said that there is an investigation into Omar about the controversy and suggested that she could be subject to deportation.
