Sources within the Seattle Police Department told the Post Millennial that a decision had been made to hand over the bridge to the far-left activists.

It has been revealed that Seattle law enforcement personnel had been ordered to allow anti-Israel demonstrators to seize control of a major bridge during rush hour traffic on Thursday evening.

In addition, the United States Coast Guard had reportedly agreed to hold boat traffic ahead of the demonstration. The activists shut down the drawbridge for more than 3 hours, which caused significant traffic delays with miles-long backups.

Sources within the Seattle Police Department told The Post Millennial that a decision had been made to hand over the bridge to the far-left activists, but did not elaborate further.

On Thursday evening, more than one hundred Seattle pro-Palestinian activists descended upon the University Bridge at rush hour, blocking all lanes of traffic and shutting it down as they called for a "ceasefire in Gaza."

The group tied an 18-foot "ceasefire menorah" to the bridge and chanted for the genocide of both Jews and Christians in Israel.

Seattle police and Washington State patrol allowed the activists to block the bridge for more than 3 hours and made no effort to remove them, despite the major traffic jam that the closure had caused. Seattle politicians such as Democratic Mayor Bruce Harrell have been strongly criticized for continuing to allow the activists to block streets and interrupt public events such as the downtown Christmas Tree lighting.

The Post Millennial reached out to the Seattle Police Department for comment, to specifically find out information as to why no officers had intervened in the illegal demonstration, according to road policy.

A spokesperson with the Seattle Police Department told The Post Millennial: "This is a question regarding police tactics. This would be better suited for a PDR request. I am not free to discuss SPD tactics and strategies."

The radical organization Jewish Voices for Peace, which is ostracized by mainstream Jewish organizations and has ties to terrorist organizations, was among the group of protesters. Activists wore "Jews for ceasefire now" shirts; however, many of them have been recognized from other far-left protests, and they are reportedly not Jewish.

The group arrived with banners that specifically targeted Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who has so far stood with Israel through the conflict. Activists could also be seen holding a banner that read "The whole world is watching."

The activists never demanded the release of the more than one hundred hostages still held captive by Hamas, nor did they express condolences for the victims of the October 7 terrorist atrocity. Pro-Hamas demonstrations invariably feature slogans advocating for genocide, vandalism, graffiti, and anti-police sentiments. However, none of these demands ever involve Hamas's surrender or the release of the detainees being held captive by the terrorist organization.

The Seattle Police Department has been criticized for its response to the anti-Israel demonstrations that have been occurring throughout the city since Hamas launched its terrorist attack on Israel in early October. Pro-Palestinian activists have repeatedly shut down major lanes of traffic, which is against current laws, and SPD has done nothing to intervene.

Many of these individuals, who have been seen at these ongoing demonstrations, are involved with the extremist militant group, Antifa.

While the decision to intervene in these ongoing road blockades does not come from the officers themselves, it raises questions as to who is making the calls from a higher position of authority.

Days after the deadly Hamas massacre and before the IDF responded in Gaza, chapters of the Democratic Socialists of America began organizing rallies in support of Palestinians and even used graphics of Hamas terrorists parachuting into Israel to advertise the events.

The organization's Palestinian Solidarity Working Group even released a "tool kit," with resources to coordinate pro-Hamas rallies coast to coast.

While many progressive Democrats have renounced their membership in the radical group, it still counts among its members Reps Alexandra Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) and Cori Bush (D-MO) and regularly links to Socialist and Marxist propaganda.

The toolkit had similar themes to the one created by the violent pro-terror activist group Within Our Lifetime (WOL), which took credit for the vandalism of the New York Public Library and targeted the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

Similar to WOL, the DSA also provides graphics and templates for actions and links to many antisemitic organizations.
