Ford government expected to release modified Stage 2 restrictions for select cities, gyms and indoor dining to close

The Ontario government is expected to announce new measures to fight the pandemic today. The rules will be a "modified" Stage 2 according to CTV News.

Businesses in cities like Toronto, Ottawa and the Peel Region will receive the new restrictions.

Indoor dining and gyms will close for 28 days.

The restrictions are expected to be approved by cabinet later today and then imposed on Saturday.

Reports are also saying that the government is considering shutting down all indoor sporting games and casinos.

Ford will speak this afternoon at the University of Toronto at approximately 2:30pm EST.

This announcement comes as Ontario reported 939 new infections this morning.
