The Ford government has instructed the Ontario Ministry of Education to sever future contracts with the disgraced WE Charity group. This according to CBC.
A spokesperson for the ministry, Alexandra Adamo, said that "hard working people in this province deserve to know that their money is delivering value."
Additionally, the Ministry will be investigating the financial circumstances surrounding their relationship with WE.
WE was a pervasive charity brand across the country, and their alleged corruption has shaken Canada's trust in the popular social enterprise. Several companies have already parted ways with WE.
These include Good Life Fitness and Virgin Atlantic Airways, Royal Bank of Canada, Loblaw Companies Ltd., and now the province of Ontario.
WE has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks when the depths of the alleged corruption into the organization touched on Prime Minister Trudeau, his family, and his close associates and advisors.
