On Wednesday, ex-Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg was sentenced to five months in prison for perjury.

The 76-year-old had pleaded guilty to lying during the former president's civil fraud trial in New York.

According to the New York Post, Judge Laurie Peterson informed Weisselberg of his fate in the sentencing hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court that lasted just two minutes.

Weisselberg was accused of lying to New York Attorney General Letitia James and her investigators during a May 12, 2023 deposition, and again while taking the stand in the trial that fall. He was given a plea deal in which he admitted to lying to James' office three years earlier during a discussion surrounding the value of Trump's real estate assets, telling them Trump Tower was 30,000 square feet when it is actually three times smaller.

This is not the first time Weisselberg has been convicted of a crime connected to his time working with the Trump Organization. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to 15 counts of tax fraud, and was sentenced to five months in jail on Rikers Island, though he was eventually supervised release.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
