A local Seattle news journalist was assaulted and harassed by armed Antifa militants and leftist agitators on Wednesday at the University of Washington’s unsanctioned Gaza encampment

They surrounded Fox 13 News photojournalist Mike Harvey with umbrellas to block him from filming the encampment, and shined high-powered green lasers in his eyes, which can cause permanent blindness.

Video footage taken by The Post Millennial shows the moment leading up to the attack.

Black bloc Antifa militants and leftist agitators approached Harvey who had been filming on top of the stairs leading down to the Quad, a lawn on the university that has been morphed into an autonomous zone similar to Seattle’s 2020 CHAZ.

One of the militants was armed with a makeshift weapon, video footage shows.

Another agitator in the group shined a powerful green laser into his eyes. These are the same lasers used to attack police during the 2020 riots, which left some officers permanently blind.

Despite Harvey explaining to the agitators that he has the right to film under the First Amendment of the US Constitution, the militants didn’t care and continued to surround him and block his coverage.

When Harvey would move, the Antifa members would follow him.

One protester accused Harvey of putting the campers in danger, citing that video recording results in protesters being doxxed.

Harvey is not the only member of the media who has been targeted by the Gaza campers.

TPUSA Frontlines journalist Jonathan Choe and his security team were brutally attacked by black bloc Antifa militants and leftist agitators last week while reporting near the camp. On Sunday, a journalist with DC Draino Media, Gabrielle Cuccia, was allegedly attacked by Antifa during a pro-Israel counterprotest at the university.

Choe was doxxed by the Gaza camp protesters when they graffitied Choe’s home address and phone number all over the encampment. The scare tactic was used to try to prevent the journalist from reporting on the event.

It appears that Antifa is running security at the encampment and staying in tents, according to video footage captured by TPM. It’s unclear if they are students or involved with the university.

University of Washington (UW) President Ana Mari Cauce released a statement Wednesday afternoon asking activists to disband the violent Gaza camp which has been on the Quad for 3 weeks, citing escalation. However, she did not speak about the consequences for those in the encampment.

This is the second statement the university has released in less than a week asking the Gaza camp to disband.
