BREAKING: Four people including baby found frozen to death near Canada-US border

Two adults, a teen, and a baby were all found about 10 metres north of the Canadian border near Emerson at around 1:30 pm.

The Winnipeg Free Press reports that the bodies of a family were discovered frozen to death near the Canada-US border near Emerson, Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Two adults, a teen, and a baby were all found about 10 metres north of the Canadian border near Emerson at around 1:30 pm after a four-hour search by both US and Canadian agencies.

The family appeared to have frozen to death, though further autopsies have been scheduled. An adult male, female, teen and infant were found.

The statement from Manitoba RCMP say that they had apprehended a "group of individuals who had crossed into the US from Canada, near the town of Emerson."

"Further, it indicated that one of the adults had items meant for an infant but that no infant was with the group."

"Upon receiving this information at 9:23 am, a search was immediately launched on both sides of the border.

"RCMP officers were already patrolling the area and the search began at 9:24 am. Extensive patrols were conducted and, at approximately 1:30 pm, the bodies of three individuals were located on the Canadian side of the border, approximately 10km east of Emerson."
