Following Wednesday's arson attack on Fox News' Christmas tree in New York City, Gutfeld! host Greg Gutfeld blasted fellow late night show host Stephen Colbert for a tweet joking about the incident.
"Flaming Christmas Tree just got its own show on FoxNews!" Colbert wrote on Twitter.
"and its already beating you in the ratings," replied Gutfeld.
In November, "Gutfeld!" beat "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in the key 25 to 54 demographic, with 396,000 viewers. "The Late Show" brought in 390,000 viewers in that demographic.
While "Gutfeld!" didn't beat "The Late Show" in total viewers, fellow Fox News primetime shows "Tucker Carlson Tonight" and "Hannity" drew in millions more viewers than Colbert's show, with 4,249,000 and 3,290,000 total average viewers respectively.
A suspect has been arrested and charged with arson, along with multiple other crimes, according to Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott.
Suspect Craig Tamanaha was released without bail Wednesday night, due to new reform laws passed in the city, according to the New York Post.
"We will not let this deliberate and brazen act of cowardice deter us. We are in the process of rebuilding and installing a new tree as a message that there can be peace, light and joy even during a dark moment like this," Scott said.
The All-American Christmas Tree reportedly took over 21 hours to assemble, and consisted of 100,000 red, white, and blue lights, and 10,000 glass ornaments.
