An illegal alien has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a park in Idaho. Jose Alberto Lozano-Flores, 29, of Mexico, was taken into custody on July 23 and booked into the Ada County Jail. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer to prevent his release into the community, said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The incident occurred on July 22 around 9 pm at Freedom Park in Star, Idaho. According to local reports, Lozano-Flores approached the 15-year-old victim, whom he did not know, and allegedly sexually assaulted her at the park. He then took off with the victim in his vehicle.

Lozano-Flores was arrested the following day around 3 pm in Quinn's Pond, Boise. He was booked into jail on felony lewd conduct with a child under 16, felony first-degree kidnapping, and misdemeanor resisting and obstructing, jail records show.

Authorities recovered the minor victim, also in Quinn's Pond, who was reunited with her family.

"This criminal illegal alien is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Idaho," said DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis in a press release. "ICE will work with our partners in Idaho to ensure that he is not released from jail and is never loose in American communities again. When state politicians cooperate with us, we are able to keep criminals out of American neighborhoods."

DHS said that Lozano-Flores unlawfully entered the United States through New Mexico in 2023. He was encountered by Border Patrol agents and agreed to voluntarily return to Mexico.

The criminal migrant illegally re-entered the country on an unknown date and location, according to the agency.
Idaho is not a sanctuary state and cooperates with federal immigration authorities.
