Thousands of college students attended a large worship gathering at the University of Pittsburgh, where hundreds of participants were reportedly baptized during the event.

Unite US, which organized the event, described a strong spiritual atmosphere from the start. “You could feel the hunger in the room from the very beginning,” the group said in a social media post. “And by the end of the night it was clear that God was moving in a powerful way! So many students showed up open, expectant and ready, and we watched lives be changed right in front of us.”

Baptisms continued until after midnight. Unite US founder Tonya Prewett wrote on Instagram, “We baptized until after midnight, and the testimonies are pouring in!”

Unite US began as a worship event at Auburn University in 2023 and has since expanded to other college campuses across the country, drawing large crowds of students. Christian influencer Bryce Crawford told Fox News last month that the trend reflects dissatisfaction among young Americans with modern culture and social media.

"We're fed fluff through our phones, through desires, through whatever we think is going to satisfy,” Crawford explained. “Every human being is on a quest for love, and we try to fill that void with different things, and I think people are naturally understanding, 'Wait, this thing isn't working anymore. This isn't going how I thought it was going to go,' so ultimately, people don't just want a truth, they want the truth and that would be Jesus."

He added that the Christian resurgence among Gen Z is a result of people "waking up to the truth.”

"We've lived for so many different things, different people, relationships, substances, different vices, and it doesn't fulfill us," he said. "So people understand that we need something eternal and perfect that can sustain that, and Jesus is alive and active, and He is doing that in people's hearts who are hungry and ready to receive Him."

TPM just published another article complaining that NY Mayor Mamdani violated the separation of church & state by celebrating a Muslim holiday & speaking about his faith. Now you publish an article celebrating hundreds of college students being baptized on the campus of a state university. What happened to your concern about the separation of church & state?
