"Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn't pay rent for over a year. Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces," Shaun Maguire wrote.
A venture capitalist and claimed former landlord to Hunter Biden has accused the now-pardoned president's son of failing to pay some $300,000 in rent over the course of a year. The landlord revealed that Hunter then tried to pay the rent with artwork made from his own feces.
Shaun Maguire, a partner at the venture capital firm Sequoia Capital, posted on X after the president pardoned his son Hunter, "So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020?"
"Is that pardoned now? Thanks Joe. (This is a true story)."
In a follow-up comment in his replies, Maguire then alleged, "Yup. True story. Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. Didn't pay rent for over a year. Tried to pay w/ art made from his own feces. Absolute sh*t bag."
Maguire, previously a Never Trump advocate, supported the now-president-elect during the 2024 election. He wrote in an October 27 post, "In 2016 we were manipulated to believe the world will end if Trump is elected I took the bait then, but not this time."
On Sunday, Joe Biden announced Hunter's pardon after previously vowing not to pardon Hunter or commute his sentence for his various crimes. Biden said in a statement about the pardon to Hunter, "Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”
"Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form," the president continued, accusing the DOJ of holding bias against his son. "Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions."
Biden then claimed, "It is clear that Hunter was treated differently." Later in the statement, the president said that throughout his career he has followed a "simple principle: just tell the American people the truth." In light of the pardon, many believe that Biden and his White House were not telling the truth earlier in the year when they said that Biden would not pardon Hunter.
