In what appears to be a pre-established contract, Hunter Biden had been looking to gain from lucrative deals made through Changzhou Energy Engineering Co (CEFC), the now-bankrupt Chinese energy corporation, on behalf of himself and his family, per emails recovered by the New York Post.

In one email, Hunter Biden wrote that the deals would be "interesting for me and my family."

In association with an unspecified business venture, an email sent to Biden on May 13, 2017 denotes how six individuals would receive pre-established payments in return for an un-named deal. James Gilliar, the author of the email, lays out the individual payment recipients along with the amount received.

"As I had already alluded, we have discussed and agreed the following remuneration packages," Gilliar states.

The email proceeds to list the recipients of the payments. At the top of that list, the Chair/the Vice Chair of CEFC is named as "Hunter" and is mentioned as having been scheduled to receive an amount of "850." The email does not specify what 850 means, how large a quantity it represents, or in what currency, but does denote that Hunter had "office expectations" that he would communicate at a later date.

In addition to Biden, there's a few other recipients listed in the email. These include: Toney, who is identified as the CEO, James, Rob, Jim Unknown, and Sanan.

This email, like a number of other pieces of information surrounding the actions of Hunter Biden, were recovered from an abandoned MacBook Pro left in a computer repair shop in Delaware. According to the Post, it was a device that had been checked for repairs but had never been repossessed by the owner. The computer and the information on it has been seized by authorities and is now under investigation by the FBI.

These weren't the only emails Biden made to Chinese business executives.

A later email, made on August 2, 2017, demonstrates that Biden had attempted to strike a deal with Ye Jianming, the chairman of CEFC to split ownership of a holding company, which would result in Biden's acquisition of $10 million dollars annually with the expectation of consulting services from CEFC. Along with that email, authorities examining the contents of the laptop recovered an "Attorney Engagement Letter," also coming from Ye. Ye sent Biden $1 million in return for legal counsel, or, as the email puts it, "counsel to legal matters related to U.S. law and advice pertaining to the hiring and legal analysis of any US Law firm or lawyer."

A hand drawn picture included in the email correspondence provides a visual representation of the deal, showing Biden and "chairman" splitting 50 percent of something named "Hudsonwest."

From the context of the email, Hudsonwest appears to have been the operating name out in front of the holding company—or at least the name of an account associated with receiving payments. Reporting from the Post denotes how in 2017 a credit account with the same name would make millions of dollars' worth of expenditures and would be used by Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Sarah Biden (Hunter's wife) to make extravagant purchases.

At this time, while authorities continue to sift through the information found on the laptop and connect the dots,  Biden and his legal team have declined to comment on the Posts' inquiries regarding the nature of his transactions overseas.
