ICE launches CDL fraud tip line for Americans to report illegal alien truck drivers

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has launched a tip line to report illegal immigrant fraudsters in possession of Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs). This follows a series of fatal accidents caused by foreign national truck drivers who obtained such licenses despite not being able to read road signs due to a lack of English language proficiency.

The effort is intended to ensure road safety and prevent more Americans from being killed, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.

"Too many American lives have been lost or permanently changed because illegal aliens who have no business being on our roads have been granted CDLs," said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin in a press release. "ICE and our federal partners, including the Department of Transportation, will be cracking down on CDL fraud so that not one more American life is lost to a reckless illegal alien behind the wheel of a semi-truck. You can help save American lives and make our roads safer by dialing ICE's new CDL fraud tipline today."

In April 2025, the Trump administration paused the issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers following a high-profile road fatality in Florida, in which an Indian national who obtained CDLs from California and Washington killed three people on a Florida highway.

A new federal law enacted by the Trump administration took effect in March 2026 and disqualified non-citizens, including asylum seekers, refugees, and recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), from holding CDLs, even if they are legally authorized to work in the United States. Federal data indicates that about 200,000 immigrants held CDLs, which accounted for roughly 5 percent of all commercial truck drivers nationwide.

DHS detailed numerous recent incidents in its press release.

Michael Bon, an illegal alien from Haiti, killed a Pennsylvania State Trooper in July 2026 while driving a semitruck. Bon was granted a CDL by the state of Massachusetts, said DHS.



In March 2026, Sukhdev Singh, an illegal alien from India, crashed into a US citizen in Indiana, leaving the victim hospitalized with serious injuries. He was granted a CDL by New York, according to DHS.



Bekzhan Beishekeev, an illegal alien from Kyrgyzstan, killed four people in a head-on collision after swerving into oncoming traffic in Indiana. This occurred in February 2026, and Beishekeev received a CDL from Pennsylvania.


 

In November 2025, Rajinder Kumar, an illegal alien from India, killed a newlywed couple in Oregon after crashing his semitruck into their car. He was granted a CDL by California.



Akhror Bozorov, an illegal alien from Uzbekistan, was granted a CDL by Pennsylvania despite being wanted in his country of origin for belonging to a terrorist organization, DHS said. He was arrested by ICE in November 2025.


 

The tipline is being managed by ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Individuals can make CDL fraud reports by calling 866-347-2423.
