"I’m not afraid of no president, Donald Trump. We’re ready for you. We’re coming for you."
Speaking at the National Action Network’s 2025 conference in early April, New York Attorney General Letitia James said "we’re coming for" President Donald Trump. Since her appearance, James has been referred to the Department of Justice for alleged mortgage fraud.
Delivering comments to attendees at the "Women’s Empowerment Luncheon," James said she had to "leave right after I speak" because of actions the Trump administration has taken, saying that they’ve fired "thousands of HHS workers," stopped Head Start grants, and "terminated the heat grants for individuals who need assistance with heat."
"So I've got to rush back to the office, because you know that there’s nothing more close to my heart than a lawsuit," she said. "And so you tell Donald Trump the lawsuit's coming. It’s just a matter of hours."
She told the crowd of women that there is "nothing more dangerous than a woman with a made-up mind, and my mind is made up."
She later added, "we were founded as a nation of laws, where each and every citizen would be protected by the law, but also would be subject to it, and that includes the President of the United States. And as we see efforts to change that noble history, it is incumbent upon all of us, all of us in this room, to step up and to speak out. The Constitution laid out clear guidelines on how to run our government, on how to protect our most basic rights and how to ensure against tyranny, especially now as we see the new administration in Washington on a literal rampage of lawlessness, cruelty, aggressiveness, and overt bigotry."
James said that the "chaos" undertaken by the administration "is deliberate" and an "attempt to demoralize you and to wear you down."
She said her "mission is clear. I’m focused. I’m prepared. I’m ready. I’ve been trained by the best." She shouted, "I’m not afraid of no president, Donald Trump. We’re ready for you. We’re coming for you. We’re standing up for you. We’re fighting on. We’re not going down."
She added that she was not waiting four years, but just two, "until a speaker by the name of Hakeem Jeffries comes to bring us some rest."
On Tuesday, James was referred to the Department of Justice by Federal Housing FHFA Director William Pulte, who accused James of having "falsified records" to get a home loan in Virginia while she was still serving as the New York state AG.
The criminal referral reads in part, "Based on media reports, Ms. Letitia James has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms. This has potentially included 1) falsifying residence status for a Norfolk, Virginia-based home in order to secure a lower mortgage rate and 2) misrepresenting property descriptions to meet stringent requirements for government-backed loans and government assistance."

Interesting how they all shift to 'ghetto mode' when they get caught.
