Brigadier-General Esmail Ghaani, the leader of Iran's elite Quds forces, swore that the death of Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani would be avenged, and that it will happen soon.

Soleimani was killed by a surgical airstrike carried out by US forces in Baghdad on Jan 3, 2020. Ghaani is the person who replaced him has the head of the Quds.

According to Fox News,  Ghaani "...spoke during the second anniversary of Soleimani’s death, which Iran has labeled as 'martyrdom.' Ghaani underscored the republic’s dedication to avenging the general’s death, saying that the 'ground for the hard revenge' will come from 'within' the homes of Americans."

"We do not need to be present as supervisors everywhere, wherever is necessary we take revenge against Americans by the help of people on their side and within their own homes without our presence," were the exact words Ghaani used in the speech. He continued:

"This revenge has begun. Americans will be uprooted from the region."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry, as well as declaring Soleimani's death a "martyrdom" as mentioned above, have recently added a bunch of other American individuals to their list of people they consider to be terrorists, for their role in the deal of Soleimani.
