The Brooklyn couple has been identified as Noah and Kelly Schaffer.
Noah, 41, who works for his Jewish father, Eric Schaffer, as a strategist at Human Factors International, has been placed on unpaid leave for four months, the company said in a statement, according to the Daily Mail.
His wife Kelly, 34, who previously worked as a social worker at Urban Dove, a Big Apple school program for youths, has been revealed to have a history of far-left activism and was arrested at an Antifa riot in Bergen County, NJ during a protest against ICE in 2021.
In an email sent to employees at HFI, Eric Schaffer denounced his son's "reprehensible" actions and informed the company of Noah's suspension and potential further disciplinary actions.
"As has been noted, Noah is my son. He is not an antisemite nor a supporter of Hamas. I can attest that he has not acted this way at any time during his whole life," Eric Schaffer wrote, according to the outlet. "He now understands that his actions were reprehensible, he is deeply sorry and regretful. HFI’s senior management team and I personally, in no way condone his actions today. We are placing Noah on unpaid leave for the next four months."
"This will give him time to learn more about his Jewish family history, reflect deeply, and make amends. And after this time we will review if he can rejoin the company," Eric added.
Schaffer asserted that "there is no shred of support for terrorism" at HFI nor does the company condone ripping down posters of Israeli hostages.
"We are horrified about the attack on Israel and worry about all the hostages," Eric wrote, according to an email obtained by the outlet. "We in no way condone taking down posters or anything that reduces focus on their early and safe return."
Before joining his father's UX company, Noah Schaffer worked as a magician at "A Taste of Magic" on the Upper West Side, the outlet reports.
Both Noah and Kelly Schaffer were captured on video over the weekend tearing down posters of kidnapped Israeli children held hostage by Hamas and berating a Jewish woman who had confronted them during the act. The video was uploaded to Stop Antisemitism on X and immediately went viral.
In a follow-up post, the Jewish organization revealed the identities of the couple.
As for Kelly Schaffer, it's unclear if she remains actively working as a social worker. Kelly was detained during a riot against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New Jersey, whose arrest was featured on the website "Antifa Watch," the outlet noted.
Both Noah and Kelly have deleted their social media accounts, including LinkedIn.
