Jim Banks' senate run endorsed by Turning Point Action

"The $1.7 trillion Omnibus betrayal proved we need more conservatives in the US Senate. Jim Banks is [a] man of integrity and will stand up to DC Uniparty corruption. Turning Point Action is proud to endorse Jim Banks for the United States Senate from the great state of Indiana."

Indiana Congressman Jim Banks on Tuesday announced his bid to replace a fellow Republican, Senator Mike Braun, who is stepping down from the position in 2024 to run for governor. Turning Point Action, an organization founded by conservative activist Charlie Kirk to fight back against the left, handed him their endorsement.

Rep. Banks, who has served Indiana's Third District since 2017, went over his history growing up in a small town to a working-class family, serving in the US Navy in Afghanistan, and his career so far in Congress.

"I was proud to fight for America then, and today, I'm just as proud to fight for our conservative Hoosier values in Congress," Banks said in a video announcement.

While showing clips of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Senate hopeful continued on to say that "radical socialist Democrats are trying to change America."

"But I won't let them. I've been on the frontlines fighting for America-First policies in Congress," Banks said, before listing out policies he works towards in Congress, including strengthening the border, holding China accountable "for stealing our jobs, and for giving us Covid," keeping "girls sports for girls," and stopping the push of critical race theory on kids and the troops.

Banks cited "radical Democrats" and "spineless Republicans" as the enemies of his goals.

On Wednesday, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk announced an endorsement from his 501(c)(4) organization, Turning Point Action.

"The $1.7 trillion Omnibus betrayal proved we need more conservatives in the US Senate. Jim Banks is [a] man of integrity and will stand up to DC Uniparty corruption. Turning Point Action is proud to endorse Jim Banks for the United States Senate from the great state of Indiana," the conservative activist wrote on Twitter.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Banks explained why he believes he should get support from conservatives.

"I have one of the most fiscally conservative voting records in the entire House of Representatives, and after some Republican senators went along with Democrats to pass a $1.7 trillion omnibus bill, it's clear that we need people to fight back against that in the Senate more than ever before," he said.

"We need conservative senators who are going to fight back against radical Democrats instead of playing footsie with them, and that's the type of leadership I provide in the House, but I can do even more in the Senate," Banks added.
