On Monday, news leaked that Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris could be sitting down for an interview with Joe Rogan, the same day it was announced that she had agreed to an interview on Fox News with Brett Baier.

Two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that members of Harris’ campaign met with Rogan’s team this week but the appearance has not been confirmed. This follows an announcement by former President Donald Trump that he would be appearing on the popular podcast.

Rogan’s podcast is the most popular in the US, with tens of millions of viewers. Earlier this year, Rogan reached a new deal with Spotify for an estimated $250 million.

The news of a possible Harris interview on Rogan’s podcast comes as her campaign appears to be losing momentum and polls are beginning to swing from a neck-and-neck race to Trump’s favor. Polls show Harris losing support among male voters, especially black men. On Monday, Harris revealed new policy proposals to appeal to black male voters, including assistance for black entrepreneurs to start businesses and mentorship programs, among other pledges. A 2023 poll by YouGov showed that 81 percent of Rogan’s listeners are male and 56 percent are under the age of 35.

Rogan previously turned down multiple opportunities to interview Trump. However, on his podcast last year, the podcaster said he would be more willing to vote for Trump than he would for President Joe Biden in the upcoming election.

Earlier this year, Rogan praised Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. before he dropped out of the presidential race and the former president mistakenly viewed Rogan's comments as an endorsement of Kennedy. However, in September, during an appearance on The Lex Fridman Podcast, Trump downplayed the idea of friction between the two of them, saying, "I don't think that there was any tension and I've always liked him. But I don't know him." Trump continued, “I only see him when I walk into the arena with Dana [White] and I shake his hand. I see him there and I think he's good at what he does but I don't know about doing his podcast.”
