President Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday that he won the last five polls "in a row" when he was confronted about his poll numbers.

While reporters asked the president about his upcoming State of the Union address, one asked Biden, "What's your message to Democrats who are concerned about your poll numbers?"

Biden responded, "My poll numbers? The last five polls you guys don't report. I'm winning — five! Five in a row!"

The president then instructed the reporter to go and read the New York Times to brush up on his knowledge.

According to Real Clear Politics as well as 538 poll averages, which tracks general election polls, Biden won the last major poll against Trump by +1 in a Morning Consult Poll. According to the president's claim on Tuesday, he won the four before that as well. Of the last five polls for a general election match-up between Trump and Biden, Real Clear Politics has Trump winning three, and 538 has Trump winning two of them with a tie in addition.

Trump leads with a spread of +2 overall, according to the Real Clear Politics average as of Tuesday.

Recent polls show Biden losing key demographics for his coalition including Hispanic voters, who broke heavy for the president in 2020.

As Super Tuesday’s primary and caucus results come in, it could be the day that will solidify Trump as the candidate going forward in the Republican Primary. Former UN Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. is still in the race with Trump but has only won in Washington DC.
