JUST IN: Trump to nominate Kash Patel for FBI or DOJ position: report

"Kash has a lot of allies who think placing him in a top role would be well-received by the Trump base, and send a clear message that Trump is serious about major reform to the justice and law-enforcement agencies," a source reportedly said.

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly set to nominate Kash Patel to a top role in the FBI or the Department of Justice. This comes as Trump has quickly filled his cabinet picks for his incoming administration.

According to a report from Axios citing "top transition sources," Patel is expected to be appointed to the position by Trump. The president-elect is considering him to be deputy FBI director or a high-up investigative role in the DOJ, the outlet reported.

"Kash has a lot of allies who think placing him in a top role would be well-received by the Trump base, and send a clear message that Trump is serious about major reform to the justice and law-enforcement agencies," a source reportedly told the outlet.

Although a final decision has yet to be made by Trump, many Republicans have been pushing for Patel to be put in place as the FBI director for the second Trump administration. Patel was the on President-elect's then-National Security Council and also became chief of staff for Christopher Miller, the acting Defense Secretary under Trump's first administration.

“Patel oversaw the execution of several of President Donald J. Trump’s top priorities, including eliminating ISIS and Al-Qa’ida leadership such as al-Baghdadi and Qasem al-Rimi, and the safe repatriation of numerous American hostages,” per his profile for the Department of Defense

The profile later adds, "Mr. Patel began his career as a public defender, trying scores of complex cases ranging from murder, to narco-trafficking, to complex financial crimes in jury trials in state and federal courts."

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has also been under consideration for FBI director for the second Trump term, but a final choice has not been made, the outlet reported. Former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) was believed to have been in the running for the position, however, the rumor surrounding him ended with a post from senior Trump campaign adviser Dan Scavino.

"Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It's not happening — in his own words, 'I have never even given it a thought.' Not happening," Scavino posted to X.

Trump's pick for White House press secretary and campaign spokesman Karoline Leavitt told Axios, "President-elect Trump has made brilliant decisions on who will serve in his second administration at lightning pace. Remaining decisions will continue to be announced by him when they are made."

I actually lean toward Kyle Seraphin for FBI director and Kash in a role more geared toward calling out deep state actors. That's really his expertise but he could work with Kyle to purge the FBI.

Trump needs to appoint Kash to a newly created role: RINO Hunter!
