"Because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, America is moving again. That's what infrastructure is all about: getting people moving."

Vice President Kamala Harris describes America as "moving again" as hundreds of drivers have spent more than 24 hours stuck on Virginia's I-95.

"Because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, America is moving again. That's what infrastructure is all about: getting people moving."

Harris herself expressed regrets in an interview last month about not getting out of Washington, DC, more often.

The I-95 situation was bad enough that reporters asked about it at Tuesday’s Pentagon briefing. Officials responded that no request for military assistance had been made.

This as the DC and Virginia areas are currently recuperating from the I-95 highway stoppage. Traffic backed up at some point on Monday after a multi-truck accident blocked those on the road, amid a winter storm.

Getty Images captured the scene that drivers themselves saw from their car windows and smartphone maps. People began reporting they were running out of food. Stranded drivers began giving supplies and advice to each other on how to survive this situation. People's gas tanks put pressure on them all.

Early on, people were able to leave their cars and record videos of the shutdown section of highway. As the day progressed, more recent updates show diverted traffic elsewhere in the DC area on Tuesday evening. Virginia state police announced they'd be working overnight to resolve the issue, and urged motorists to continue avoiding the area.

Virginia senator Tim Kaine spent 27 hours trapped on the I-95 attempting to get to work in Washington.

Governor Ralph Northam on Tuesday evening said "significant progress" had been made in clearing I-95 and helping drivers.
