Kamala Harris let at least 1.7 MILLION 'potential national security threats' into US during time as 'border czar'

“With CBP encountering more than 1.7 million special interest aliens nationwide since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, the threat facing the United States has only grown under their failed leadership."

Over 1.7 million migrants encountered at the US border under the Biden-Harris administration originated from countries that could pose a national security threat, according to a report released by the House Judiciary Committee. These are nations that do not have strict or comprehensinve vetting measures before visas are issued.

The report stated that this number of "special interest aliens" (SIAs) was disclosed by a congressional staff briefing by officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). SIAs refer to migrants from countries identified by the US government as having conditions that promote terrorism or pose a threat to national security, according to Fox News.

DHS officially defined SIA in 2019 as “a non-U.S. person who, based on an analysis of travel patterns, potentially poses a national security risk to the United States or its interests. Often such individuals or groups are employing travel patterns known or evaluated to possibly have a nexus to terrorism."

"DHS analysis includes an examination of travel patterns, points of origin, and/or travel segments that are tied to current assessments of national and international threat environments," the department said.

According to the House report, 26 countries are currently considered of special interest. These include Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey (a NATO member). The countries of North Korea, China, and Venzuela have also been added to the list. This comes as the number of Chinese and Venezuelan nationals attempting to cross the US border has surged in recent years. The report also pointed out that DHS has admitted that being a national from a special interest country does not affect a migrant’s admissibility into the US.

Cuba and Venezuela are also two of the countries on the Biden-Harris administration's special parole program. People from these nations can set up appointments using the CBP One app to surrender themselves at a port of entry and claim asylum. They do not need to provide ID and there is no real vetting process prior to their being admitted to the US and released into the interior with an asylum court date years down the road.

Due to the alarming statistics, the report called for Congress to take serious action to secure the border and address the growing national security concerns.

“With CBP encountering more than 1.7 million special interest aliens nationwide since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, the threat facing the United States has only grown under their failed leadership,” the report said.

“Despite clear evidence of the mounting national security threats facing the United States due to their open-borders policies, the Biden-Harris Administration and Senate Democrats have failed to consider H.R. 2, the House-passed Secure the Border Act of 2023. To secure the border and protect Americans, the Senate must pass, and President Biden must sign into law, H.R. 2,” it added.
