Conservative faith group CatholicVote said that Vice President Kamala Harris is one of the most anti-Catholic politicians in the country. The group launched a large campaign in swing states with heavy Catholic populations bring awareness to Harris' anti-Catholic views so voters can be aware in the upcoming election.

According to Fox News, CatholicVote president Brian Burch told the outlet in an interview, "Kamala Harris represents the most vile anti-Catholic threat of any leading candidate for president in American history. She is a candidate of the hard left. And her record and her words demonstrate a gross anti-Catholic bias and bigotry."

Burch cited comments from Harris in 2018 where she questioned then-federal judge nominee Brian Buescher and vilified his membership in the Knights of Columbus (KOC). The KOC is a fraternal Catholic organization. Then-Senator Harris had said prior to questioning the judge that he was a in an "all-male society comprised primarily of Catholic men, led by Mr. Carl Anderson."

Harris then stated, "Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman's right to choose when you joined the organization? Did you agree with Mr. Carl Anderson that abortion is ‘the killing of the innocent on a massive scale?’ Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed marriage equality when you joined the organization?"

The KOC was founded as a charitable organization and had helped to change the pledge of allegiance to have the words "under God" in the phrasing. The KOC has raised millions for the Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity. It has also donated to Sisters of Life, March For Life, Persecuted Christians Fund, and the Ukraine Solidarity Fund.

In a comment to the Fox News, Harris campaign spokesman James Singer responded to the accusation, saying that the VP is "proud to serve with [Joe Biden as] the second Catholic president."

"Catholic voters are not defined by a single partisan organization, but by their values, communities, faith in each other, and love of our country — and Kamala Harris will fight every day to earn their vote," Singer added. Biden, however, has also faced heavy criticism from many religious Catholics.
