"People like Stephen Miller will go down in history as evil, have blood on his hands, and should be jailed at the very end of this.”

Left-wing author and commentator Kara Swisher compared Trump adviser Stephen Miller to Nazi leader Heinrich Himmler, saying he has “blood on his hands” and should be imprisoned.

Swisher made the remarks during an episode of the Pivot podcast, which she co-hosts with Scott Galloway. During the discussion, she likened Miller, who is Jewish, to the Nazi leader and to Karl Bendetsen, a US official involved in the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.

“And I would last like to call out Stephen Miller, who is in the center of this,” Swisher said. “We always focus on Trump, as we often focus on the top people. But Stephen Miller, like a man named Bendetsen, he was the one who created the internment camps for Japanese, Heinrich Himmler in the Nazi regime, this is what he is. Trump, of course, gets most of the blame being at the top. But people like Stephen Miller will go down in history as evil, have blood on his hands, and should be jailed at the very end of this.”

The comments quickly drew backlash, including from conservative commentator Megyn Kelly, who responded on X to a clip of Swisher’s remarks.

“This is SICK. She’s trying to get [Stephen Miller] killed. Why else would you say he’s Himmler? Deranged and so far beyond the pale. We can’t become immune to it.

Swisher’s remarks come amid continued rhetoric from some left-wing commentators comparing the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration law to the policies of Nazi Germany. Such comparisons have been especially prominent in Minnesota, where the Trump administration has sought to crack down on illegal immigration following widespread fraud allegations.

The rhetoric has coincided with unrest in the state, including riots and assaults carried out by anti-ICE activists. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has also compared ICE to Nazis in public remarks, claiming that children in Minnesota are hiding in their homes like Anne Frank and describing ICE agents as “modern-day Gestapo.” This comparison drew condemnation from the US Holocaust Museum, which said in a statement that “Despite tensions in Minneapolis, exploiting the Holocaust is deeply offensive, especially as antisemitism surges.”
