A motion for a judicial inquiry into the SNC-Lavali allegations and to waive Jody Wilson-Raybould's solicitor client privilege has been voted down by a Liberal majority.
The motion was defeated by a margin of 160-134.

The motion brought forward by the NDP recieved bi-partisan support from the opposition. If passed it would bring the SNC-Lavalin affair before the justice system and allow the former Justice Minister, Jody Wilson-Raybould to break her solicitor client-privelege and speak freely on her side of the story.
Jody Wilson-Raybould who was present for the vote, refused to participate.
Since the story broke, Wilson-Raybould has been tight-lipped on the allegations and has sought legal counsel on what she can or cannot say.
Only the Prime Minister has the power to waive the former Attorney General's privilege.
Two Liberal MP's Nate Erskine-Smith and Wayne Long voted with the opposition on the motion.
