39-year-old Christine Weston Chandler, aka "Chris Chan" aka "Sonichu" aka Christian Weston Chandler, the transgender webcomic creator and living Internet meme was arrested, handcuffed and taken into custody by Greene County Police on Sunday.

Chandler's arrest was prompted by the leak of audio and chat logs, which revealed disturbing details about elder abuse and his performance of alleged non-consensual sexual acts, or rape, of his 80-year-old disabled mother, whom he referred to as a "love quest."

Greene County Police conducted a welfare check on the Chandler household, which led to the removal of Chandler's mother from the premises. She was taken to a hospital for a physical examination.

Shortly thereafter, police served Chandler with an emergency protective order prohibiting him from contacting his elderly mother or entering the premises until August 5, prompting him to stay at a Richmond, VA motel, where he was arrested on Sunday.

His arrest was captured on video by live-streamer Ethan Ralph, which showed Chandler being walked away in handcuffs by police and placed in a police vehicle.

Henrico County Jail

It’s not clear at time of publication what, if anything, ‘Chris Chan’ has been charged with. However, the Virginia Criminal Code classifies “adultery and fornications by persons forbidden to marry; incest” as a Class 5 felony, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.

A YouTuber named Dillin Thomas claimed that he contacted Chandler to ascertain the veracity of the report: “I told Chris I wouldn’t make this info public but it is eating away at me. I asked Chris if he f**cked his mom earlier and [Chris] said it was true.” In screenshots posted to Twitter, Chris appears to reply “I will trust you with the simple answer… yes.”

This isn’t the first time Chris Chan has landed in hot water with law enforcement, having been previously arrested for vandalism, trespass and assault after pepper spraying a GameStop employee at a convention in Charlottesville in 2014.

As the story began trending on Twitter, several users leapt into the conversation, imploring that everyone respect her pronouns.
