According to the results of an upcoming poll obtained by the New York York Post, the majority of Americans approve of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk's $44 billion buyout of Twitter.
A Rasmussen poll scheduled to be released Friday found that 62 percent of adults think Musk will improve the platform, even as employees of the tech giant lament the billionaire’s acquisition of the company.
The poll's margin of error is 3 percentage points and surveyed 1,000 adults on Sunday and Monday, the day Twitter's board of directors unanimously accepted Musk's buyout offer.
According to the poll, only 13 percent believe that Musk will make the platform worse, with 19 percent of respondents saying they would be less likely to use Twitter once Musk’s purchase was finalized. That percentage increased to 31 percent of Democrats and 33 percent of government employees.
However, 57 percent of Democrats surveyed believed that Musk would improve the platform. Low income earners, people over 40, women and Republicans were the most excited about Musk’s buyout of the company.
