Durham Regional Police said a man has been charged after a vicious attack that took place in Whitby, Ontario in July, CP24 reports.
Police say 21-year-old Anthony Doiron-Francis, of Whitby, brutally attacked Kimberly "Kimmy" Black, 50, while she was out for a walk. The man left her to die near a creek just south of Taunton Road East. The victim did not know Doiron-Francis, according to investigators. Police believe the attack was random.

On the late morning of July 29th, after a several hour long search, police found the victim with serious injuries that were consistent with an assault. The victim was brought to a Toronto trauma centre via helicopter.
The victim had been reported missing the night before she left her home for a walk.
The suspect was identified after a video was released of him following the woman the night before at around 9 pm.
The video shows the suspect tracing the victim's path from a distance. Investigators asked any of the drivers who passed if they may have had dash-cam footage to help in the search for the man.
After his identity was revealed, the man was located in Ottawa and arrested.
